KEXP - Brand Identity Redesign

The Challenge

To develop a new branding identity system for KEXP, a renowned arts organization celebrated for its live performance sessions with musicians of all genres and backgrounds in its vibrant studio, my goal was to create a system that resonates with its loyal and dedicated fan base. This new identity needed to be instantly recognizable, reflecting KEXP's rich heritage, while also introducing a modern aesthetic that captures the organization's evolution and dynamic energy.

Inspired by the play button, the KEXP symbol features two arrows with one inverted, symbolizing the seamless blend of contemporary and nostalgic music.

Colors

The updated color scheme hasn't ventured too far from KEXP's core identity. It maintains the iconic yellow as its primary color, complemented by accents of black and white in a supporting role.

Application

The arrow stands as the key point in the new visual identity, serving the purpose of guiding users as well as honing in the new visual style. An interactive, user-friendly, and intuitively design is also an integral component of the refreshed identity, aligning with the brand’s value of being accessible to people across all boundaries.
